VIBE — Mongo DB Hackathon implementation

The group continued intense development of their hackathon project, now titled "VIBE," as they arrived and settled into the competition venue on January 10, 2026. Despite Anish's initial hesitation about building a corporate event planner, the team successfully pivoted or refined the concept into a highly technical tool. Sohan and Nikhil shared critical infrastructure details, including MongoDB connection strings, database schemas, and API keys for VAPI, Tavily, OpenAI, and Google Maps. The team is utilizing a MongoDB Atlas cluster (Cluster0 and Cluster1) with specific collections for event data. Sohan worked on a backend function to automate venue recommendations via SMS based on specific user requirements stored in the database, such as budget, location, and attendee count. Anish shared early deployments of the web application and a logo for "VIBE" which features a minimalist, high-contrast geometric design. He also documented a sample "AI Builders Meetup" document for a Berkeley SkyDeck event to test the system's data structure. The interpersonal atmosphere was high-energy, with Sidd arriving early to secure parking and the group navigating travel via Waymo. Anish expressed some minor frustration with a neighboring team at the venue who was talking loudly. As of the afternoon of January 10, the project is live on a temporary Cloudflare tunnel and a Vercel deployment, with the team focused on final integration.
